Linda is pretty happy where she is in her life now. She is a beauty therapist owning her business for the last 8 years, with this year growing even bigger than before.
Linda thinks that often when a woman becomes a wife, a partner, or a mom she loses her identity a bit without even realising it.
“We tend to try to be who we think we should be instead of being who we are, doing things that we enjoy. Its okay to be who you want to be.” – says Linda

In this episode, Danyelle talks about tattoo art and its role in body image, life-changing experiences, and different reasons why people do tattoos. She also talks about the psychology and symbolism behind tattooing.
As an old-school professional tattoo artist, Danyelle talks about the importance of ethics a tattooer should have.
A tattooist often becomes a trusted person with whom people share their stories and secrets. Often a tattoo artist helps people to transit through their most important life events.
Danyelle says that even if it’s a full-back or a tiny tattoo, it is a way of expressing something that is within a person. It is a reflection of who they are as a person and should be respected equally.
Danyelle also talks about her favorite cover-up tattoos.
Danyelle’s advice to younger women is:
Know your own value. Be true to yourself. Educate yourself, don’t take everyone else’s word as truth, know your own core beliefs. Protect and look after your health – mind, body, soul.

#21 My Body My Story 45 Over 45 - Lucie
Monday Sep 06, 2021

In this episode, Lucie talks about the roots of a perfect body image idea. She believes it’s in a woman's own mind, warmed up by society and cultural pressure, and the idea actually goes against nature. She says that we grow up to be a woman and our body is not supposed to be a teenage body for the rest of our life.
She also talks about how she was a TV model in her younger years and is planning to do it again.
Lucie talks about how she is dealing with people's drama every day at work, as she is a psychiatric nurse in the emergency department. She knows that to have good mental health you just need to do very simple things – eat well, sleep well, exercise and have good relationships.
She says that nothing beats a genuine smile on a woman’s face. You don’t even think about how you look when you are happy. Happiness is very attractive.

#18 My Body My Story 45 Over 45 - Kyla
Monday Aug 16, 2021
Monday Aug 16, 2021
In this episode, Kyla talks about the idea young women are raised with - the idea that you will meet a man, you marry him, you buy a house, you have children. But no one talks about how it consumes 20 years of your life… and what is AFTER that. It's only when you hit that line you start thinking – sh&%t, what am I going to do now?
Also, as a Manager of a chain of adult stores, Kyla talks about the importance of breaking down stigma and barriers around sexuality, likes and dislikes, and what’s perceived as right and wrong in anything of a sexual nature. She says that a lot of women in their 50s and 60s who visit the stores she manages never had or used toys. Going through them and making women realise that it’s not that scary, and fun is an important part of Kyla’s mission. She thinks that it's incredibly important for self-care that every woman deserves self-pleasure every now and then.
With the biggest challenge of realising her mortality, Kyla wants to do more, to get out there and make the most of it. She wants to leave the rest of her life, not having regrets and do everything she wants to do.
Her advice to younger women - You need to make sure that you are putting yourself first! And yep….Don’t eat that extra donut!
